What is the Importance of Time to Organize! CONCILIATE WORK AND FAMILY?
It is agreed that by achieving work-life balance companies are helping their employees and therefore benefiting by increasing morale, productivity, retention, enhancing teamwork, and creating incentives for the initiative. However, this is not without challenges.
For starters, balance, in itself, it's a very subjective concept, as no two people have the same idea of what qualifies as balance. This creates an issue for companies who are left wondering whose needs they need to address.
Companies also struggle to respond to the techniques that may increase this life-work balance, as it can - in an initial phase - disturb the company's productivity. However, the opposite is usually what truly happens. For instance: In Iceland, the trial of a four-day workweek was an "overwhelming success", not just for employees (who reported feeling less stressed and with improved work-life balance) but also for the companies who reported a regular or sometimes improved productivity, as well as fewer cases of burnout.
But it is not just companies who face challenges in changing the policies regarding this balance. Employees themselves may also struggle to leave behind the perception of the idea that if they push for a better balance of work-life issues, they may seem not as committed and therefore fear for their position within their work.
Achieving balance may be hard, but it will bring rewards to all.
